CSTS Dinamica has completed the assembly of MiG-31 training system, which allows honing the skills of control and interaction between all the components of interceptor aircraft system on the basis of MiG-31 aircraft, the company’s press-service reports. AEX.ru
This work has been performed in the network of a program for creation of training system for operating personnel of shore-based combat aviation. The full mission simulator is the key element of this training system, which also includes an auxiliary crew station and instructor operation station.
The KTE-MiG-31 full mission simulator is intended for training of personnel in the areas of pilotage, air navigation and tactical employment of MiG-31 including crew procedures in case of emergency. The cockpit mockup fully corresponds to the real cockpit by geometry, control location and instrumental equipment. The simulator includes three-channel optical-collimating visual system with computer image generation of the environment, enabling continuous picture with FOV (120°Н х 28°V). A separate channel is used for imitation of view through the periscope from the navigating officer’s cockpit. The KTE-MiG-31 also includes the instructor operation station for two instructors – pilot and navigating officer. At that, there is a separate group of monitors for each instructor and each of them performs his own independent functions during training, the company noted.
Since MiG-31 is intended for group missions, the training system includes auxiliary crew station with a simplified cockpit mockup, where sensor LCD panels are used instead of real cockpit panels. In fact it is a full simulator with LCD panels with the precise image of cockpit panels installed in the real aircraft.
The new training system may be integrated in other training systems of any complexity. It has an object model, which allows it to work with other systems in a single informative analog environment on the basis of HLA (High Level Architecture). The fully immersive informative analog environment has been developed for the first time in the history of native simulators by Constanta-Design.
The preliminary testing is currently underway and the next phase is state testing of the simulator, CSTS Dinamica stated.
