Russian Minister of Defense, Anatoly Serdukov, and president of Irkut Corporation, Alexey Fedorov, have signed the contract on delivery of Yak-130 operational trainers on December 7th, the enterprise’s press-service reports. AEX.ru
In accordance with the contract, Irkut Corporation will deliver 55 Yak-130s to the Russian air forces by 2015.
The state program in the area of arms for 2011-2020 assumes acquisition of 65 Yak-130s.
Russian Minister of Defense said: «The Ministry of Defense pays a lot of attention to fielding the troops with advanced equipment and improving the combat training. The acquisition of Yak-130s will allow reaching the required level of pilot training and will help prepare them for flying on the next-generation vehicles, which will be acquired soon».
As noted by Alexey Fedorov, the signing of State contract on delivery of Yak-130 aircraft is very important milestone for the Corporation. «I am confident that we will be able to deliver the jets in time and provide a high quality of the vehicles, manufactured for the Russian air forces», – said CEO of Irkut Corporation.
