The testing of supercomputer is currently underway at Sukhoi design bureau in the network of “Development of supercomputers and grid-technologies” project’s implementation, the company reports. AEX.ru

It has been approved in 2009 in accordance with the ruling of Presidental Commission on modernization and technological development of economy and its planned duration is three years. The project is aimed at creation of supercomputers industry in Russia, including the basic product line of supercomputers with different performance, high speed communication channels, simulation software with a high degree of parallelism and training of dedicated personnel.

Rosatom State Corporation, Sukhoi design bureau and its partners from Sukhoi Holding in the area of development and production of aircraft, are responsible for implementation of the project, the company noted.

We remind you that a supercomputer center has been created at Sukhoi design bureau this year and it enables access to the computer in Sarov. It is used for solving high dimensionality problems without suppositions and setting simplification, which require multiversion model analysis for obtaining optimal design and technical solutions during design of parts, components, aggregates and complex technical objects, the company noted.

"This refers to problems, connected with the passenger aircraft certification in the area of safety during emergency landing in case of landing gear fault, water landing, explosion of pneumatic, impact of foreign objects, compressor blade strip, bird strike, etc. It is also planned to solve problems of aero elasticity. non-steady aerodynamics, connected and adjoint heat transfer and complex contact interaction problems. It is around 30–40% of the total scope of calculation tasks, which are currently being solved by Sukhoi during development of new aircraft", - the company’s press-service noted.
