Kurumoch international airport, located in Samara, will become a part of the airport holding, which is being created by Renova Group, press-service of Renova reports. It is managing Koltsovo airport in Yekaterinburg, where a program of creating the regional aviation hub is being implemented, and the international airport in Nizhny Novgorod. AEX.ru
The decision on assigning the shares of “Kurumoch International Airport” (KIA) to Koltsovo-Invest, forming part of Renova Group, has been taken by a commission, formed by “Development Corporation of Samara Region”, on December 3rd 2011 following the results of competitive procedure among the potential investors of the airport. The investment agreement with the winning company will be signed by January 31st 2012.
According to the selection rules, Koltsovo-Invest will acquire 71,1773% of KIA’s shares and it will be allowed to acquire another 25,0114% after the implementation of investment commitments. According to the proposed investment program, the investor plans to assign more than 12,3 billion rubles for development of the airport (2011 prices), whereof 4,311 billion will be invested by the end of 2014.
During implementation of the airport’s renewal program a new passenger terminal with an area of 35 thousand square meters and planned capacity of 3/5 million passengers per year will be built by the end of 2014. While the passenger traffic will increase, the airport will be expanded to 60 thousand square meters. In addition, a new cargo terminal will be built in the network of the program, airport’s engineering systems and service lines will be modernized, including construction of new electrical substation and boiler house, the administration building, ground servicing and maintenance bases will be reconstructed. The second phase assumes construction of hotel with a conference-hall at the airport, increasing of the cargo terminal’s area and further modernization of engineering systems, service lines and equipment.
