EMERCOM of Russia has acquired five advanced Ka-32A11BC helicopters in the network of technical re-equipment program, RIA Novosti reports. It has been declared by the head of Aviation and Air Rescue Technologies Administration of the Ministry, Major General Sergey Fedorov.
At present EMERCOM’s fleet is formed by 65 aircraft, including 6 multi-role Be-200ChS amphibians.
"The fifth Ka-32A11BC has passed the acceptance at Kumertau plant (Bashkiria). The helicopter will be operated at the Central air rescue center in Zhukovsky", - a source said.
Fedorov reminded that 8 Ka-32A11BCs, Mi-8MTV and two Be-200ChS amphibians have been delivered to EMERCOM in 2011.
According to the Ministry’s information, Ka-32A11BCs will be used for provision of safety at federal highways, including Moscow – St. Petersburg. At present people, injured in road traffic accident, are delivered to nearby hospitals by three helicopters: Vo-105 and two Ka-32A11BCs, based in Klin and Tosno (Leningrad region).
Ka-32A11BC may be equipped with «Simplex» fire-fighting system, horizontal water cannon and VSU-5 helibucket with a capacity of 5 tons. It is able to perform continuous duty in the conditions of high smoke content and dust level. Ka-32A11BC is able to fight fire on oil tankers and cases, enterprises of fuel, chemical and oil-refining industries, areas of gas and oil extraction, upper floors and roofs of high buildings.
As reported by EMERCOM earlier, the re-equipment program, assuming acquisition of advanced vehicles and equipment, for 2011-2015 has been developed for modernization of the Ministry’s technical basis. The program assumes allocation of 43 billion rubles for these purposes. The share of advanced vehicles in the EMERCOM’s fleet will reach 80% by 2015.
10.42 billion rubles have been allocated for acquisition of new air rescue vehicles and equipment by EMERCOM (14.5 times more than in 2004).
