Russian airlines have transported more than 54,7 million passengers during 10 months of 2011

Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines during a period of time from January to October 2011. AEX.ru

According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines was 141 210 338,49 thousand passenger-kilometers, (+ 13,1% as compared to the same period of the last year). The cargo turnover was 4 052 698,48 thousand ton-kilometers (+ 4,4%).

During the accounting period (January – October 2011) Russian carriers have transported 54 708 512 passengers (+12,3% as compared to the same period of 2010). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 799 915,85 tons (+5,5%). The passenger load factor has remained at 77,8% mark and the commercial load factor was 65,3%.

Russian airlines have transported 5 340 845 passengers in October 2011 (+7,8%) and 90 687,10 tons of cargo and mail (+1,2%).

The top-5 carriers by passenger traffic during the period from January to October 2011 are as follows: Aeroflot has transported 11 794 869 passengers (+23,9% as compared to the same period of 2010), Transaero - 7 252 691 passengers (+29,5%), UTair - 4 701 411 passengers (+24,3%), Sibir’ - 4 295 136 passengers (+4,1%), Rossiya - 3 017 147 passenger (+13,8%).

The five leading airlines by cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo - 302 038,4 tons of cargo and mail (+18,5% compared to the same period of 2010), Aeroflot - 128 081,8 tons of cargo and mail (-4,8%), Volga-Dnepr - 51 560,8 tons of cargo and mail (-30,5%), Polet - 44 069,8 tons of cargo and mail (+13,2%), Transaero - 40 782,8 tons of cargo and mail (+27,7%).
