The test orbital trimming of ISS has been performed on December 1st in accordance with a program of ballistic flight support. AEX.ru
All the operations have been executed in accordance with commands of Central Computer of the ISS’ Russian segment using the program built into it from the Mission Control Center of Central Research Institute of Machine Building (TsNIIMash). The vernier engines of Zvezda service module have been started on 3-11 Moscow time (November 30th 23:11 GMT). They have been shut down after reaching the desired burn magnitude.
The orbit of ISS has the following parameters after the maneuver:
minimal height above Earth's surface – 376.8 km;
maximal height above Earth's surface – 428.4 km;
orbit time – 92.34 min;
inclination - 51,66 degrees.
The next adjustment of ISS’ orbit is planned on December 7th. It will be the final maneuver of the series, which has begun on November 18th, intended for formation of the station’s operational orbit before the launch of Soyuz TMA-03M spaceship on December 21st.
