The world-class Aircraft Staff Training Center for Sukhoi Superjet 100 liners has been opened

The opening ceremony of Aircraft Staff Training Center (ASTC) for customers and operators of Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) has taken place today, press-service of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCA) reports. AEX.ru

The representatives of Government of Russian Federation, Russian aviation authorities, Interstate Aviation Committee, Russian aircraft industry and industry research centers, airlines, which are operating SSJ100, Russian financial structures and mass media have taken part in the ceremony.

ASTC provides a full cycle of training for flight and maintenance personnel of SSJ100 customers. It has advanced training aids and training equipment, including CBT computer systems, FPTD procedure trainer, FTD LV static flight simulator, full flight simulator and CEET trainer.

The flight and maintenance personnel are educated in accordance with programs approved by Federal Air Transport Agency, which assume an intense usage of trainers. The ASTC will be able to re-train up to 180 pilots and 250 technical specialists per year, starting from 2012.

SuperJet International (SJI), the joint-venture between Alenia Aeronautica and Sukhoi Company, is responsible for training of customer’s personnel.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft is the subsidiary of Sukhoi Holding Company in partnership with Alenia Aeronautica. It provides the proper functioning of all the training aids and trainers of ASTC.

As of the end of November 2011, 19 crews (38 pilots) and 93 technicians have been trained for Aeroflot and Armavia. It is planned to re-train 3 more crews (6 pilots, which have no experience of operating an aircraft with “glass cockpit”) for Aeroflot by the end of this year.

Sukhoi Superjet 100 (RRJ-95) is the regional next-generation 100-seated aircraft developed by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft in cooperation with Alenia Aeronautica. SSJ100 has performed its maiden flight on May 19th 2008. The jet’s maximum cruise speed is 0.81 M, cruising altitude – 40000ft. The length of run for the jet’s basic version is 1731 m and 2052 m for the version with extended range. The basic version’s range is 3048 km, the extended range versions – 4578 km. SSJ-100 has received the AR IAC certificate in February 2011. The jet is going to receive EASA certificate this year. The first serial SSJ100 has been delivered to Armenian airline Armavia on April 19th 2011. At present four SSJ100s are operated by Armavia and Aeroflot.
