The construction of plant for manufacturing composite components has been started today at the territory of Aviastar-SP in the presence of Sergey Morozov, the governor of Ulyanovsk Region, president of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Mikhail Pogosyan and CEO of AeroComposite, Anatoly Gaidansky,  UAC reports. AEX.ru

AeroComposite will launch the production of composite components (center section panels, longerons and integral panels of outer wing) at Aviastar-SP’s site with an area of 64 250 square meters for the needs of MS-21 program and other future-oriented programs of UAC. The first kits should be manufactured in 2012.

«The creation of state-of-the-art Russian manufacturing of composite components is one of the key factors for provision of competitive performance of the advanced civil aircraft of UAC. In the network of UAC’s strategy and on the basis of AeroComposite we are creating the center of competence for designing, manufacturing and selling of composite components, which includes design center, technological center and plants for manufacturing of the components. At present we are founding the first site, providing not only more than 600 jobs, but also the development of the industry’s most advanced technologies in the region», - president of UAC, Mikhail Pogosyan, noted.

«Besides major investments, new jobs and implementation of advanced technologies, the creation of new facility will allow creating workload for contiguous enterprises and will promote the deployment of AeroComposite’s suppliers in the region», - said the governor, Sergey Morozov. Thus, our region will become one of the strategic sites, where the future of aircraft industry is made, again. I am gald that we have managed to convince the investors that Aviastar should work for development of Russian aircraft industry. It is great that they believe in us and that our prospects and proposals receive appreciation at all levels».

«The production in Ulyanovsk will include the full technological cycle of parts manufacturing from polymer composites using non-autoclave infusion method: from laying out the by-products to control of geometry and painting. The enterprise will reach the estimated capacity of 100 kits per year in 2017. The planned revenue will be $300 – 350 million», - said CEO of AeroComposite, Anatoly Gaidansky.
