$10,53 billion (330.5 billion rubles) will be spent on development and maintenance of GLONASS during the period from 2012 to 2020, the press-service of Roscosmos reports. AEX.ru

The development of “Maintenance, development and operation of GLONASS system” federal target program for 2012-2020 will be completed soon. Its main objective is maintenance and development of GLONASS system for provision of its competitive capability and creating conditions for its wide use in Russia and foreign countries. 330.5 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes.

We remind you that Soyuz-2.1b with Fregat upper stage and Glonass-M spacecraft has been launched on Monday (November 28th).

In accordance with cyclogram of placing the spacecraft into final orbit, the Glonass-M spacecraft have separated from the upper-stage normally and has been taken under control.

Taking into account the launch of Proton-M rocket carrier with three Glonass-M spacecraft from Baikonur on November 4th 2011, the formation of GLONASS orbital group is almost completed (24 spacecraft in three orbital planes). The 24th spacecraft will be put into operation in the beginning of December 2011. It will increase the precision and availability of navigational sighting, create the orbital reserve of the system and increase the stability of the system.

Thus, the main objective of “Global navigational system” federal state program will be completed – the orbital group will be formed and the required precision of navigational sighting in Russia and worldwide will be provided.
