New batch of Mi-17 helicopters has been delivered to India

Another batch of four Russian Mi-17 helicopters has been delivered to India in accordance with the contract, RIA Novosti reports with reference to a source close to Russian military industrial sector.

"The helicopters have been delivered to Chandigarh. Later they will be assembled and a series of test flights will be performed and after that the vehicles will be handed over to the Indian party", - the source noted.

The first batch of the helicopters has been delivered to India in November 2011 in accordance with the contract on delivery of 80 helicopters, signed in 2008. "A total of 21 helicopters will be delivered this year", - the source noted.

India is already operating about 150 Mi-8s and Mi-17s.
