Deputy Director General of Aeroflot – Russian Airlines, Shamil Kurmashov, has been awarded the “Best Financial Director” prize in the main nomination – “Best Dynamics of Financial Results”. The award has been presented during solemn ceremony, which has taken place in Autoville vintage car gallery on November 18th, the airline reports. AEX.ru

The “Financial Director” national prize has been established by the same-name magazine and it has been awarded for the third straight year. Its main objective is to award professionals, who have achieved remarkable results during the year in such areas as development of company’s strategy, investments attraction, business restructuring, organization of accounting, etc.

The financial directors of Russia’s leading companies have qualified for the award. The laureates have been defined in 10 categories this year by the representatives of professional community and independent experts.

In 2011 Aeroflot has become the first Russian carrier to pass IOSA audit without any incompetency to the IOSA standard, which is the unique result not only for Russian companies, but also for the world ones. The audit’s results have confirmed that Aeroflot is using the most advanced standards for flight safety management and keeps its leading positions. The IOSA program has been developed by IATA in 2001 for solving airlines’ problems in the area of cost efficiency and safety, the airline noted.
