Sevmash defense shipyard (Severodvinsk) will construct the floating transit airfield in Arctic Region for oilers, who are producing the Prirazlomnoye deposit in the shelf area of Pechora Sea, TASS-Sibir’ reports.
According to the first Deputy Director General of Sevmash, Mikhail Budnichenko, the shipyard and Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering “Rubin” (St. Petersburg) are developing the project of so-called “stage transfer platform”, which will be installed half-way from Murmansk to “Prirazlomnaya” FPU platform. Besides helipad, the accommodation blocks, where the personnel can have a rest and wait out a bad weather, will also be located at the platform.
Rubin has won the tender issued by Gazprom and Sevmash will be constructing the platform, because this enterprise has a vast experience in construction of sea-based platforms, Budnichenko noted.
The extractable resources of Prirazlomnoye deposit are assessed at 72 million tons, allowing reaching an annual production level of 6.6 million tons. The offshore ice-resistant fixed platform should reach its full capacity in seven years.
