The successful launch of Soyuz-2.1b flight vehicle with Fregat upper-stage rocket and Glonass-M navigational spacecraft has been performed by the representatives of Russian Space Forces with participation of specialists of rocket and space industry from the Plestsk cosmodrome’s launch site on October 3rd 00-15 Moscow time, press-service of Federal Space Agency reports. In accordance with cyclogram of placing the spacecraft into final orbit, the Glonass-M spacecraft has separated from the upper-stage rocket normally at 3-47 Moscow time and has been taken under control.
The Deputy Director of Federal Space Agency, Anatoly Shilov, has noted that after placing the Russian satellite into orbit, the Glonass system will be fully equipped. Glonass system included 24 satellites with the term of active operation of three years in 1996. Then the system has lapsed. It has been restored for the full number of satellites with this launch. The group of 24 satellites allows receiving of Glonass signals without any limitations all over the world, Shilov added.
