The Federal Government has defined the scope of finance for maintenance and development of GLONASS in the next 9 years, Izvestiya reports.

As reported by a high-ranking source in the Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), a concept of corresponding Federal Target Program (FTP) has been approved with a budget of 330,5 billion rubles for 2012-2020. As a comparison: the total scope of finance in accordance with active FTP GLONASS for 2001-2011 was 116,9 billion rubles.

Thus, the accepted variant is not the most generous (the initial scope of finance offered in Spring was 462 billion), but also not the most economic (Roscosmos has submitted a variant with the scope of 249,4 billion in July in accordance with the instruction of Ministry of Finance).

Roscosmos would not feel too free within the framework of current budget, at least in the next three years, when the scope of finance will be kept at the present level (19.3 billion rubles annually). This sum has been specified in the initial project of budget, the title noted.
