Transaero's latest addition to the Tu-214 fleet

For the first time in its history, Transaero surpassed the level of six million passengers carried in a year, the airline’s report 2010 says.

Transaero is firmly in the Top five Russian airlines, operating the largest widebody fleet in this country. As of now, Transaero operates a fleet of 59 aircraft including 14 Boeing 747s, 8 Boeing 777s, 12 Boeing 767s, 22 Boeing 737 and 3 Tupolev Tu-214s.

Last year twelve airplanes were added to the fleet, including 5 Boeing 777, 3 Boeing 747, one Boeing 767 and 3 Boeing 737. The airline is proud to operate a unique Boeing 747-400 with 521 passenger seat, the most capacious in the world of that type. This year Transaero expects deliveries of additional Boeing 777-300s.

At the end of 2010 Transaero faced one more challenge: operations in the conditions of a very serious technological and technical fault that occurred in Moscow Domodedovo airport. Over the whole duration of the technical fault, the airline did not cancel any of its previously planned flights, so that all of the customers were transported to their destinations.

During the three days during which the consequences of the fault were being eliminated, Transaero performed over 300 flights without a single incident, thereby maintaining high safety standards.
