In the evening of Monday 24 January a series of explosions took lives of 35 people and wounded over a hundred in Moscow Domodedovo airport.
The explosions occur near the baggage claim area and the Asia café which is located in the western wing of the main passenger terminal.
According to preliminary investigation of the order keeping forces, the explosions were a coordinated action by a group of terrorists. Three men are said to be in that group. They are believed to enter the terminal via one of the entrances where the people coming in are not tested by metal and explosive detectors.
Russian president Dmitry Medvedev called for highest security regime in Moscow airport and other large transport centers.
Shortly after the explosions a number of inbound flights to Domodedovo were re-directed to other Moscow airports, Vnukovo and Sheremetievo. Some of outbound flights were cancelled. But later on the airport resumed normal work and started serving all inbound and outbound flights.
