Aeroflot carried more than 11 million passengers in 2010

The Russian flag carrier transported over 11 million passengers last year, according to general director Vitaly Savelyev.

Speaking to the Russian media he said that for the first time in the post-Soviet history, Aeroflot’s frequency of flights exceeded 300 a day. In 2008, when the conditions of the world-wide crisis started to be felt, the Russian flag carrier transported 9.2 million passengers, and maintained the average frequency at 250 flights a day. The fact that in 2010 Aeroflot carried more passengers than 2008 allows it to claim recovery from the crisis.

Today Aeroflot operates 68 Airbus narrow bodies and ten A330 widebodies, along with nine Boeing 767-300ER widebodies. Of Russian-made aircraft it operates six Il-96-300 long range passenger quads.
