Tunisian airlines brings back the last Russians

Russian Aviaton » Wednesday January 19, 2011 15:42 MSK

All Russian citizens who wanted to get back home from the troubled Tunisia were carried to Moscow aboard Airbus A320 operated by Nouvelair.

At night of 18/19 January the Tunisian airplane landed at Domodedovo airport. The flight originated in Monastir, and had 101 passengers on board. These passengers made a second group of Russian citizens after 240 of their country mates that travelled the same route on Monday night aboard Transaero flight UN622.

Russian tourists agencies said that their customers will get compensated.

The exodus of the Russian holiday makers from Tunisia was caused by the uprisings in that country that took place in the capital and other cities throughout Tunisia. The government reacted with imposing stricter safety measures and temporarily cancelling outbound international flights. The uprisings led to clashes with order-keeping forces in which about 80 people were killed.
