Past year the Russian airlines increased their air traffic volumes by 26% over previous year, with 57 million passengers carried.
These figures are given in the preliminary report from Russia’s ministry of transportation. The report was made available for the local media on 17 January 2011.
The ministry calculated that all of the Russian airlines have carried about 57 million passengers, which is 14% above the so-far-best year of 2008, while the 2009 statistics reflected world-wide economic downturn.
Aeroflot, S7 (Sibir), Transaero, UTair and GTK Rossiya secured their placed in the top five largest Russian airlines. Of those GTK Rossyia come fifth with just above 3million passengers carried in the whole of 2010.
