The State Transport Company “Rossiya” (Russian acronym GTK Rossiya) made public its operational results for 2010, saying 3,072,829 passengers were carried on its flights in the whole of the past year.
The carrier, based in Pulkovo airport of St. Petersburg, registered a 4.3% rise to the previous year and nearly reached the pre-crisis traffic volumes.
Number of passengers that travelled on domestic routes amounted to 1,581,097, while the number of those who travelled on international services totaled 1,491,732. The passenger traffic rose by 2.5%, to 6,242.48 million km*passengers (pkm), and number of flight hours by 2%, to 74840.9 FH.
In the past year GTK Rossiya added new destinations in Russia: Surgut, Perm, Volgograd and Gelenzhik. Besides, two more CIS destinations are now served, Kulyab and Karshi. Also, services to Tivat and Caucasus Mineral Waters (Kavkazskie Mineralnye Vody) have been resumed.
Fleet renovation program saw the number of Airbus narrowbody jetliners rising to 15 A319/320s. Besides, GTK Rossiya continued to accept newly built indigenous designs from Russian manufacturers. BY the end of the past year, the Antonov An-148-100V fleet had increased to six units.
