Transaero pays compensations to passengers

On 13 January Transaero made decision to start paying compensation to the passengers of delayed flights that occurred in the period of 26 to 28 December when Domodedovo airport was suffering from electricity blackout that happened in the Sunday morning of 26 December.

The airline stresses that the decision was made on the will of the airline as it feels obliged to do something for the passengers who suffered. Citizens of Russia, Israel, Uzbekistan and Ukraine that were on Transaero scheduled and charter flights and experienced delays with boarding calls are invited to apply for the compensations.

The central office has instructed local sales points about the decisions made. A grand total of compensations to be paid exceeds Rouble 200 thousand, Transaero press office says.

It adds that all delays with departures were due to technical and technological failures of the airport systems and that the airline stuff can not be blamed for any of the delays. Transaero reserves for itself the rights to demand compensations of its own financial damages from the Domodedovo airport.
