The Russian flag carrier said it is working on the mechanism of compensations for passengers of delayed flights, with late departures from Moscow Sheremetyevo airport in late December 2010.

With Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo both experiencing troubles, traffic through the Moscow Air Knot was at the edge of collapse in December 24 to 29. Aeroflot, which has largely overcome this difficult period and now fly according to the central timetable, feels obliged to pay compensations to the passengers who suffered from the December predicament.

Aeroflot spokeswoman Irina Dannenberg who spoke to Russian media said that at the end of the current week the airline will make public its decisions on the subject. She further said Aeroflot may offer the delayed flight passengers certificates for a free-of-charge ticket that would be valid for a year.
