Moscow Airlines, 100% owned by the city government, reports 31% rise in passenger traffic to same period previous year. By the year-end the total number of passengers carried is expected to reach 1.4 million.

The airline has recently changed its name from Atlant-Soyuz to Moscow Airlines to best reflect changes in the ownership: private shareholders sold there stakes to the Moscow city government. In the period September – December this year the latter’s stake rose from 51% up to 100%.

During past eleven months of 2010, Moscow Airlines carried over 1 million 285 thousand 700 passengers. Seat loading factor grew by 2%, up to 79.6%. The airline is making efforts on promoting its new brand, with focus on new onboard services to passengers, including those offered via Internet, and wiser usage of IT technologies.
