All delayed flights of Russian and foreign airlines originating in Moscow Sheremetyevo have been served, the airport says.

Most of the delayed flights were operated by Aeroflot. They went off schedule due to shortage of anti-icing substance in the Russian flag carrier’s stocks. Starting from the evening of Wednesday December 29, all scheduled flights originating in Sheremetyevo go in accordance with the central timetable. This is said with the rider: the timetable has been “corrected” taking account of the delays.

As of 18:30 local time, December 29 the airport served 170 outbound and 140 inbound flights. Over 22 thousand passengers flew on outbound flights in the whole day of Wednesday December 29. At the given time there were some passengers still awaiting their flights in the airport, though. In a reaction to the heavy critics in the media for bad treatment of delayed flight passenger earlier this week, Sheremetyevo pledges to serve those who still remain in its territory with drinks and hot meal.

It further says that, despite bad weather conditions – snow and icing – the airport manages to maintain takeoff and landing operations on time, and for all types of air vehicles permitted for operations here.

In its turn Aeroflot says that, as of 19:00 local time, December 29, it performed 111 domestic and international flights from the airport.
