Avcom-D became the first Part-145 organization in Russia to have been EASA certified for line and base maintenance on Hawker business jets.
On 22 December the company announced that it won European Aviation Safety Organization (EASA) Part-145 certificate. This certificate “confirms the compliance with all the requirements to performance and quality of services, professional skills of the staff and the whole company”.
Avcom is abbreviation for “Aviation Commercial”, and “-D” suffix points at its branch located in Domodedovo airport of Moscow. The fixed-based operator employs 70 specialists working in business aviation terminal and maintenance center.
Avcom head Eugeny Bahtin said: “For us this means a lot. EASA certificate is a proof of the high quality of services we render to business aircraft operators”. He further said that previously Avcom-D won approvals of Russian and US aviation authorities, “so that our services are now recognized by three largest aviation jurisdictions”.
From now on Avcom-D can do “parallel provision” of services to owners of aircraft registered either in Russia or Europe or United States “so that when an aircraft owner makes his mind to sell the aircraft, the latter’s market value will be higher.
Avcom started doing maintenance work on Russian-registered Hawker business jets several years ago, in accordance with Russian aviation safety regulations. Then it spent a year preparing to EASA certification. This involved additional training of personnel in the US and Europe, and improving their English language skills. Besides, every engineer underwent personal training “so that to insure everyone understands the philosophy and complexity of aircraft maintenance work performed with compliance to the main aviation jurisdictions”.
