Sukhoi promises to deliver 17 Superjets next year

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) says it will deliver 17 Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) airplanes to its customers in the whole of the next year.

Of those seventeen airframes three are actually built in 2010, but their involvement in flight testing, qualification and crew training programs does not allow their deliveries only after the New Year holidays. The SSJ100 will have entry into service with Armavia in February and with Aeroflot in March next year.

SCAC and its partner Superjet International have secured 150 orders and commitments. Meantime, a newly redone estimation of the market for the SSJ100 is now stands at 893 units. Breakeven point is expected to be passed with the 369 sales, which is expected in 2018. The whole program is expected to generate income of US dollar 31.5 billion and profit of 5.5 billion.

These new estimations that were made by SCAC and leaked to the press earlier this month have been confirmed by SCAC press service. These figures are for the SSJ100 only, without taking account of the Superjet New Generation. The latter is understood to be a large airframe earlier referred to as the SSJ130 as it seats 130 passengers.
