Order book for Russian jetfighters exceeds 300

Order book for Russian combat jets exceeds 300 units, said head of Sukhoi and RSK MiG companies Mikhail Pogosyan.

Today, 44 nations operate Sukhoi and MiG fighters, “and this gives us a very stable position in the market for tactical aircraft“, he added.

Starting in 2009, the Russian MoD started placing large orders for new combat jets. In 2009 alone the local buyer took delivery of 33 newly built Sukhoi and MiG fighters and 18 more after upgrade.

“For us this makes the local market comparable by its size with foreign sales”.

This year the Russian air force expects deliveries of new Su-30M, Su-35 and Su-34 aircraft off production line. The list of foreign customers awaiting deliveries includes India, Indonesia, Algeria, Vietnam and Syria.
