Sukhoi reports about starting assembly work on the first deliverable Su-35S single seat multirole fighter.

At MAKS’2009 air show the Russian defense ministry placed order for 48 such aircraft to be delivered by 2015.

Work on initial batch of deliverable Su-35S started in the fall of 2009 at Komsomolsk-upon-Amur Aviation Production Association (KnAAPO).

The first airframe is taking shape in KnAAPO final assembly shop. It shall be completed, test-flown and delivered to the Russian air force at the end of this year.
