The PD-14’s core (gas generator) demonstrator is scheduled for bench runs later this month. In preparation to the runs, first set of parts to the PD-14’s core demonstrator has been shipped from Ufa to Perm in October 2010.
UMPO, Russian acronym for Ufa Machinery Building Association, manufactured a first set of rotor to the PD-14’s high pressure compressor. By the year-end, UMPO has to complete two more sets.
The PD-14 is an all-new Russian engine for the next-generation MS-21 airliner. The aircraft will also be available with Pratt&Whitney’s Pure Power geared turbofan engines.
