Food for SVO-passengers

On May 30, the Sheremetyevo International Airport hosted a media tour “Kitchen and High-Flight Service” for representatives of the media and the blogosphere. A wide range of restaurant concepts at Sheremetyevo Airport was presented to the guests of the media tour by café bars and restaurants “Urozhay”, Guinness Pub & Kitchen, “Back to the Future”, Factory, “AmBar”, IL Patio, “Mama Russia”, “Uzbechka”, Mercedes-Benz Café, restaurants of the holding company Novikov Group Magadan and Kolbasnyy tsekh, as well as the Rublev business hall with the longest buffet at airports in the world.

A simple principle is the basis of the gastronomic concept of catering establishments in Sheremetyevo - maximum diversity: passengers have the opportunity to visit as standard international-style establishments - coffee shops, bars, fast food outlets, and restaurants of various cuisines of the world. All travellers can take advantage of the online ordering service and delivery of in-flight catering to the gate from Novikov Group restaurants. In the VIP and business halls there is an option that allows you to order food using the à la carte system (according to a special menu) or from the nearest restaurant.

A tasty tour began in Terminal E. The Urozhay Café-Bar and the Guinness Irish Club were greeted at home on a grand scale. "Urozhay" is the first gastronomic project of Moscow, which collected recipes from all over Russia. There are more than 50 traditional Russian dishes in the cafe-bar assortment, including “Cutlet of Count Pozharsky” with mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce, “Bear Ears” dumplings. The menu here is updated seasonally. The interior is made in eco-style using only natural materials. All dishes are prepared in the open kitchen. Average check: 1000 - 1200 rubles.

Guinness Pub & Kitchen is an Irish pub with an authentic interior and a special touch. In anticipation of the flight here you can try different beers, it is worth noting that Guinness here is from that very Ireland. The menu is basically an interpretation of European cuisine in the Irish style: a huge amount of beer snacks and grilled meats. The most popular is the marbled beef  “Guinness Burger” with cherry sauce and the “Irish stew” with aromatic herbs. Average check: 1000-1200 rubles.

In Terminal D, meet the Back To The Future cafe. The name is fully consistent with the concept of the restaurant. Retro is always trendy. “Back to the Future” is an adapted beer pub with European cuisine, burgers and a wide assortment of beer snacks. The peculiarity of this cafe-bar is the concept of free flow, which involves the distribution of dishes and drinks in certain sectors, the free movement of guests, an independent choice of dishes, quick payment at the checkout. Average check: 900 rubles.

A little about the Factory in the public area of Terminal D. Restaurant of European cuisine, which has a unique design and special atmosphere. The menu includes dishes like traditional home cooking, as well as original and unusual for lovers of fine food. The menu includes snacks, main dishes, desserts, seasonal drinks. Average check: 2000 rubles.

Moving to Terminal B. In the public area there is a cozy restaurant AmBar (short for “American Bar and Grill”). The authentic atmosphere of an American loft restaurant and bar where you can taste the real American cuisine. The most popular dishes among visitors to the restaurant are burgers, steaks, snacks for beer. The food is prepared according to the sous vide technology - in vacuum at low temperature. Only Italian cuisine can argue with the diversity of American. Add an atmosphere of hospitality and friendliness, we get the well-known and well-known brand “IL Patio”. A network of family restaurants serving Italian cuisine is betting on pizza, pasta and wine. The interior is made in a calm and bright design: natural materials, calm but rich colours, live plants create the atmosphere of a cozy Italian living room. Average check: 2000 rubles.

An unexpected discovery in the Terminal B was the Mercedes-Benz Café. It is impossible to miss, because this is one of the first of cafés on the way of the passenger. The space in the spirit of the famous German company: stylish, luxurious and modern. Extensive cocktail and wine list, Italian cuisine. The menu features traditional and specialties, such as Mercedes-Benz pasta (papardelli with strachatella cheese and tomato sauce). Desserts are made without dyes using special technologies of the pastry chef. Average check: 2500 rubles.

"Kolbasnyy tsekh" and "Magadan". The restaurants of the Novikov Group holding at Sheremetyevo Airport are a continuation of the restaurant concepts of the same name at the Badaevsky Zavod. "Kolbasnyy tsekh" is a meat kitchen, "Magadan" - fish. The menu includes restaurant specialties, pizza and pizza, breakfast, sandwiches, hot dishes and desserts. Works around the clock. It is worth noting that the prices here left the city. Dishes from here, by the way, can, by request, take with you on the flight. About 500 people use this service daily. After that, we were invited to visit the Rublev business hall, recognised by the architectural community as one of the best in Europe. At its design elements of the Russian architectural heritage were used. The hall was designed by the Dutch bureau M + R interior architecture, famous for its work at Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam). The business lounge has 456 seats. It is in “Rublev” that the longest buffet among the business halls of the world is installed - its length is 34 meters. This achievement is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records.

The next establishment was Teahouse "Uzbechka". The restaurant presents the national Uzbek cuisine. Guests can taste dishes prepared according to traditional recipes of Uzbekistan, including plov, tandyr flat cake, lagman, shurpa, manti, lula kebab, lamb kebab, samsa with meat. The interior design reflects the national motifs - Uzbek textiles are used, tables and chairs are made of natural oak. The landmark of the restaurant can be called clay tandoor. Average check: 1300 rubles.

Well, the final chord of the tour was the "Mama Russia" restaurant. The concept of the restaurant is designed specifically for transportation hubs. The menu presents homemade dishes in a modern interpretation. Also here the free flow format is successfully used, where ready meals are on the distribution line. Several menu items are prepared for the guest's order, cooking time does not exceed 10 minutes. The design of the restaurant is made in the style of a Russian manor. Average check: 740 rubles.

The commercial strategy of Sheremetyevo Airport is based on research on consumer behaviour, which allows you to constantly improve the quality of service, creating the most comfortable environment for all categories of visitors. For the convenience of passengers, there are menus with a smaller number of positions as compared to food points in the city. All menus are translated into English and illustrated with photographs, some of the institutions provide a menu in Chinese.

The opening of Terminal C1 in 2019 will mark a new stage in the development of the catering network in Sheremetyevo. The volume of commercial areas of the airport will grow by 40% - up to 85 thousand square meters. m, 29% of the total amount will be the share of catering. This factor will be a favourable condition for attracting commercial partners, which in the near future implies the opening of new catering points at the airport and expanding the choice for guests and passengers of Sheremetyevo.
