Skyway Service Award is an annual industry award for the Russian and foreign airlines for the best service and client programs, based on the voting of the passengers.
Service on board of the aircraft is an important part of the successful development of any airline. CJSC Aeromar has been making a contribution to its development for more than 25 years.
The major shareholder of CJSC Aeromar is PJSC Aeroflot - Russian Airlines, which has received a qualitatively new global assessment of the service - four stars from the consulting company Skytrax. The Aspiration of the leading airline to improve the service rendered on board of the aircraft, the desire of customer’s loyalty to the provided services have an important influence on the development of our catering company.
Historically, strategic initiatives and prospects for development have been borrowed from the foreign industry leaders by the airlines of Russia and CIS.
Throughout the development we have taken into account the experience of our foreign shareholders. Currently, such shareholder is the LSG Lufthansa Service Europa, Africa / Gmbh.
Services on boards of the aircraft can be divided into two types: standard and optional.
Standard are mandatory services provided on board according to the normative legal acts. Currently, many companies have had a set of measures to optimise the standard of services.
Optional are directed on offering more comfortable services. These new services, which put the airline on a higher quality level of services. They require the implementation of innovative technologies and equipment, changes in production processes into the daily activities of the companies.
For example, providing passengers meals is the main activity of CJSC Aeromar, which has been developed from the company's foundation. We use the experience of world-class chefs to develop in-flight catering for passengers. Among them are world-known chefs - star carriers of Michelin guide: Joel Gareau, Sylvia Barracks, Pierre Gagnaire, Alain Llorka, Bjorn Frantz and others.
For more than three years in CJSC Aeromar chef Thierry Mona, a Frenchman of Swiss origin, a unique specialist, professional of development for in-flight catering, has been improving his 35-year international experience.
We are also proud of the long-term productive partnership with a group of companies by Arkady Novikov, one of the brightest professionals in this team is a chef of «No Fish» restaurant Kamal Benmamar. Close cooperation with well-known chefs William Lamberti, Adrian Ketglasom, Giacomo Lombardi, Ravana Marseille, Jean-Claude Bryuzhelem also allowed CJSC Aeromar to reach a new level of development. An important component in the development of food are also domestic top chefs and professionals: Vladimir Mukhin, Sergey Sushchenko, Andrei Shmakov, Ivan and Sergei Berezutsky, Veronica Belotserkovskaya, Dmitry Zotov, and many others.
Based on feedbacks of many passengers, we are proud to say that the food for economy class passengers became much better and tastier, and business class passenger service doesn't inferior with the restaurant level.
In addition, a special food menu available for order during the time of reservation and purchase of a ticket for passengers with limited nutrition for medical or religious views has been developed, according to the recommendations of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Commercial service on boards of the aircrafts - SKYSHOP project is a new kind of business that we have mastered in April 2014. During the first 6 months, we have managed to bring SKYSHOP project to the level of the leading airlines in the world (Emirates, Qatar Airways). The range of products is represented by leading brands and global brands (Givenchy, Guerlain, Versace, Longchamp, Mont Blanc, Hermes and others).
In 2016 CJSC Aeromar implemented the SKYBISTRO project which is providing ordered food and drinks on board of the aircraft. The project was launched on the flights of such airlines as: Aurora, Royal Flight, Russia, and others.
In April 2016 the UTair airline has fully switched to a new concept and provides only ordered meals for economy class passengers on flights up to 4 hours.
A unique pay-food project SKYCAFÉ has also been developed for the PJSC Aeroflot - Russian Airlines.
At present we can say with confidence that Russia and the CIS countries are very promising regions.
In a competitive environment to improve the quality of service rendered by the airlines significant investments in the development of innovative technologies, software and hardware, including a more expensive aircraft's cabin layout with superior classes are required.
Popular introduction is an aggregate approach to data processing BIG DATA. Aeroflot together with our company is working in this direction.
Providing flight attendants with technical equipment (tablets, terminals) helps to alleviate not only the workflow of the flight attendant, but in general improves the performance of airlines and Catering (allows you to track the logistics, to conduct inventory control and exercise financial control, etc.).
To improve the quality of service on board of the aircraft the companies are required not only to invest, but to work hard on a daily basis, which includes: a clearly thought-out concept for the development, training and motivation of the flight attendants, marketing strategies, economic analysis and long-term forecasting. CJSC Aeromar attaches great importance to all these issues. Particularly, the staff of CJSC Aeromar are going through a certified training ISPY (Inflight Sales Person of the Year) and are certified teachers as well.
Today in the global arena in the Duty Free sphere and Inflight Travel Retail a slight positive trend in comparison with 2015 is observed. First of all, thanks to the region Europe - Asia. The location of Russia and the economic and political situation allow us to say with confidence that the region has a very high potential for development.
Airlines of the post-Soviet space were not involved in the development of services on board of the aircraft. We see great interest of the market professionals in Russia and CIS region. Airlines in the region are showing counter interest in improving the quality of service at the lowest cost. Right now the development of services on boards is a promising direction.
According to the Federal Air Transport Agency on the basis of the 2016 Russian airlines carried 88.55 million passengers, reducing the volume, taking into account the situation in transport markets in Egypt and Ukraine and the late opening of charter flights to Turkey, only by 3,8%. At the same time, it is expected that in 2017 positive dynamics of passenger growth on both international and federal flights will be recorded. International directions can get out of a negative trend due to the traffic development in Turkey, and in the nearest future - the opening of air traffic with Egypt.
Important components of the service provided on board are cleaning and outfitting of the aircraft. On the request of the airline CJSC Aeromar provides passengers blankets, pillows, magazines and newspapers and printed materials, first aid kits, toys and travel sets, video players, and headphones for video and audio systems, passenger headrests, accessories for bathrooms, etc. Not only the quality of a particular product or equipment is assessed, but also the logistics (including the quality of the operational delivery on board), the operating state of the technique, technical support, and repair if necessary, as well as other related works and services.
CJSC Aeromar, as a company with extensive experience, sees the main purpose of development improve the quality of service on the boards of aircraft in the Russian Federation and the CIS region by these reasons. We are ready to share the experience and give advices, ready to attract foreign professionals for the development of the industry. For this purpose we opened new affiliates, subsidiaries and joint ventures all over Russia and the CIS. Currently the network of units of CJSC Aeromar is present in the airports of Moscow (Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo), St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, Simferopol, Vladivostok. In 2017, it is planned to set up units in the Ufa airport. Also, in the geography of the company's strategic development are: Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Khabarovsk, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody and others.
In April 2016, we were the organisers of the 1st International Forum SKYSERVICE 2016, which was successfully held in the centre of Moscow, at the Congress Centre Ritz-Carlton hotel.
For the first time in Russia a single exhibition area has been organised for suppliers, contractors, airlines, catering companies to discuss the most topical issues of the aviation industry. In addition, in order to motivate flight attendants, 16 Russian and CIS airlines took part in the certified training system ISPY (Inflight Sales Person of the Year).
Returning to the economic premises of the service on boards of the aircraft, in 2017 Russia will become one of the most attractive countries for investment, according to Bloomberg.
The government of the Russian Federation also has an active policy to attract foreign investments to the country, including to the Russian Federation territorial subjects.
At the present time it is very important not to lose this favourable moment for business development, to evolve with the market and not to stand still.
On 26-27 April 2017 will be held II International SKYSERVICE Forum, which will take place in the heart of Moscow - Gostiny Dvor.
