Three Chinese air carriers - China Eastern Airlines, Sichuan Airlines and Beijing Capital Airlines have resumed flights on routes from Chinese cities to the Moscow-based Sheremetyevo International Airport, the airport’s press service reported.

"From February 21 to February 26, 2023, the three largest Chinese airlines resumed flights from Chinese cities to Sheremetyevo International Airport," the statement says.

Currently, six Chinese air carriers operate flights from Sheremetyevo, including Hainan Airlines, Air China and China Southern Airlines. In February, Air China increased the frequency of flights from 1 to 7 flights per week, Hainan Airlines - from 1 to 2 flights per week.

"The opening of direct flights to Chengdu, Qingdao and Shanghai from Sheremetyevo will meet the expected demand for flights to these destinations following the resumption of organized tourism and the development of business relations between China and Russia," the airport said in a statement.

Sichuan Airlines flights on the route Chengdu - Moscow (Sheremetyevo) - Chengdu resumed on February 21 and are operated twice a week (on Tuesdays and Saturdays), Beijing Capital Airlines flights resumed from February 23 and are also operated twice a week (on Thursdays and Sundays), and China Eastern Airlines flights resumed from February 26, they are carried out three times a week (on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays), the press service of the airport said.
