The Indian Air Forces conducted on Saturday a demonstration flight of Su-30 fighter equipped with Russian-Indian supersonic BrahMos cruise missiles, BrahMos Aerospace said in a statement.

According to the statement obtained by RIA Novosti, BrahMos Aerospace successfully demonstrated the missile's compatibility with the multirole fighter jets.

Several countries, interested in buying the weapon to equip their Su-30 aircraft, have been observing the test, the manufacturer said.

Using BrahMos allows to engage targets from beyond the effective range of enemy weapons and attack enemy objectives protected by air defense, according to the statement.

BrahMos is a short-range supersonic missile, which has been in use by the Indian Navy since 2005. The missile has a range of 180 miles and can carry a conventional warhead of up to 660 pounds.
