Specialists of Radioelectronic Technologies Concern (KRET, part of Rostec State Corporation) held a meeting with Israeli partners from Elbit Systems. The parties discussed the joint development of multifunctional indicators for the Russian MS-21 airliner, KRET’s press-service reports.

Under the current agreement, Elbit Systems delivers a calculation module to be used in the indicators to the Ulyanovsk Instrument Manufacturing Design Bureau (UIMDB). In the network of these negotiations components manufactured by UIMDB and Elbit Systems were integrated. For the first time two parallel branches of the development were joined.

UIMDB Chief Designer, Alexander Vinogradov, said: “Elbit Systems is our long-standing partner. The meeting focused on debugging the equipment and preparing for the start of mass production of segments of the MS-21 modular avionics. It is important ‘we were on the same page’ before the start of a new phase of integrated production, which was started in June 2015,” he explained.

The enterprise is developing the SUOSO-MS-21 general aircraft equipment control system, the SIVD-21 air data measurement system, and other indicators and control devices, which are integrated into the avionics suite, which helps create a single information field and control center in the cockpit.

Around 100 Russian and foreign companies are cooperating with Irkut Corporation in the project for development of the MS-21 medium-haul passenger aircraft. In the network of this project, KRET is developing the avionics suite on the basis of modular avionics  (IKBO IMA). Capabilities of KRET enterprises allow providing up to 80% of the aircraft’s avionics, the concern noted.
