Implementation of the contract for delivery of Mi-28NE Night Hunter helicopters to Iraq is underway, Interfax-AVN reports with reference to Russian Helicopters Deputy CEO Andrey Shibitov.
“About one-third of the vehicles specified in the contract has already been delivered to the customer,” A.Shibitov said. It was reported earlier that Iraq purchased about 40 Russian-produced helicopters. This refers to Mi-35 and Mi-28NE vehicles.
The first batch of Mi-28NE helicopters was delivered to Iraq in autumn 2014. On October 30th Iraqi Ministry of Defense stated that these vehicles are ready to fight against Islamic State terrorist group.
