S7 Group has summarized the statistics for 2014. In 2014 its member airlines transported 10.066 million passengers (+9% year-on-year), the carrier’s press-service reports.

A more intensive increase was recorded on domestic routes: +10.2 % year-on-year; +6.4 % - on international routes. The total number of flights increased by 8.9% and reached 86 109 ones. “The results of the airlines’ activities for 2014 meet our forecasts and expectations. For the first time ever our passenger traffic exceeded 10 million passengers per year. This can be attributed not only to expansion of our route network and fleet, but also to development of services aimed at making the journey more comfortable. This year our passengers will be able to use new domestic and international routes,” S7 Group Strategy Director, Igor Veretennikov, noted.

In 2014 the Group’s passenger turnover amounted to 21 142 000 revenue passenger kilometers (+8,1% year-on-year). Cargo turnover reached 2 020 647 revenue ton kilometers (+7,5% year-on-year). The carrier’s indicators increased mostly due to expansion of the airline’s fleet. Last year S7 Airlines took delivery of five airliners: 2 Airbus A320 and 3 Boeing 737-800 jets. At present the carrier’s fleet comprises 60 Airbus and Boeing aircraft; it is one of the most advanced and “youngest” fleets in Russia.

We remind you that in 2014 S7 Airlines expanded its route network by means of adding a number of new domestic and international destinations. The carrier launched flights from Moscow to Cyprus – to Paphos and Larnaca, from Irkutsk and Vladivostok to Seoul, from Moscow to Ferghana, etc. In November S7 Airlines launched a new flight from Moscow to Voronezh and became the first airline to operate state-of-the-art Airbus A320 airliners on this destination. Today flights between the cities are performed twice a day. In 2014 S7 Airlines also increased the frequency of flights to some cities of Russia, including Ufa, Kazan and Omsk.
