Passenger traffic of Russian airlines was over 52,41 million passengers during 7 months of 2014

Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines for the period from January to July 2014.

According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 136 797 897,17  thousand passenger-kilometers, (+8.3% as compared to the same period of the last year). The cargo turnover was 2 789 917,02 thousand ton-kilometers (-2.6%). During the accounting period (January-July 2014) Russian carriers have transported 52 418 580 passengers (+11.8% as compared to the same period of 2013). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 564 089,62 tons (+0.5%). The passenger load factor was 79.7% and the commercial load factor was 66.7%.

As for the July statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 10 953 201 passengers (+15.7%) and 89 215,1 tons of cargo and mail (+5.8%).

The top-5 carriers in terms of passenger traffic in January-July 2014 are as follows: Aeroflot transported 13 313 613 passengers (+14.3% as compared to the same period of 2013), Transaero - 7 350 129 passengers (+5.4%), UTair Aviation - 5 136 267 passengers (+9.6%), Siberia - 4 502 126 passengers (+15%) Ural Airlines - 2 829 338 passenger (+18.4%). These five carriers have transported a total of 33 131 473 passengers (+11.9%) during 7 months of 2014, which is equal to 63.2% of the total passenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.

The five leading airlines in terms of cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 289 293,7 tons of cargo and mail (+23.1% compared to the same period of 2013), Aeroflot – 77 452,7  tons of cargo and mail (-26.7%), Transaero - 36 625,7 tons of cargo and mail (+5.1%), Volga-Dnepr - 20 962,3 tons of cargo and mail (-39.6%), Siberia - 20 728 tons of cargo and mail (+4.6%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 445 062,4 tons of cargo and mail (+3.5%) during 7 months of 2014, which is equal to 78.9% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
