Sukhoi Holding Company delivered a batch of Su-30M2 multi-role fighters to the Russian air forces in the network of State Defense Order, the company’s press-service reports.
«Commission comprising representatives of Russian air forces checked the technical documentation for the aircraft at the airfield of Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Y.A. Gagarin. Military pilots carried out necessary ground and flight tests. The jets departed to their home base. This year Russian air forces will take delivery of more Su-30M2», - the company noted.
Su-30M2 is designed for gaining air superiority by means of destroying manned and unmanned aircraft using mid-range guided missiles and in close air combat, destroying surface and ground targets using all types of weapons, including high-precision ones, during group and solo operations under any weather conditions. The jet may be used for pilot training. The second pilot helps reduce workload during missions connected with usage of long-range guided weapons, during night operations and long duration flights with air refueling.
«Main features of Su-30M2 jet are: upgraded weapon control system with expanded capabilities in terms of destroying ground and sea targets; new indication system based on color multi-functional LCD displays; improved navigation and radio communication systems; state-of-the-art on-board defense system; vast nomenclature of air-to-air and air-to-surface weapons mounted on 12 weapon stations; air refueling system; reinforced airframe and landing gear allowing the jet to have a maximum takeoff weight of 38 tons with full payload and fuel. The fighter’s weapon control system allows detecting, tracking and destroying air, ground and sea targets under any weather and lighting conditions», - the press-service added.
