The top-management of United Rocket and Space Corporation (URSC) has chosen the candidate to replace Gennady Raykunov as CEO of Russian Space Systems (RSS). According to Izvestiya, Andrey Tyulin will be appointed CEO of the company in September. At present Tyulin is the Deputy CEO of Radioelectronic Tecnologies Concern (KRET, part of Russian Technologies State Corporation) on strategic planning and implementation of the state defense order. According to a source close to the Federal Space Agency, the appointment of Tyurin has already been approved by all the parties involved.
Tyurin himself confirmed that he met with the representatives of URSC, however, he believes that it is too early to discuss his appointment.
A source close to the Federal Space Agency explained that Tyulin is preparing for commissioning of an important project implemented by KRET under his guidance; the project commissioning date is mid-August. He has no intension to discuss his new position prior to this date. Moreover, officially he will be appointed CEO of Russian Space Systems only in September.
