Passenger traffic of Russian airlines was over 41,4 million passengers during 6 months of 2014

Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines for the period from January to June 2014.

According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines during the accounting period was 109 565 591,9  thousand passenger-kilometers, (+7.4% as compared to the same period of the last year). The cargo turnover was 2 354 385,91 thousand ton-kilometers (-3.8%). During the accounting period (January-June 2014) Russian carriers have transported 41 465 284 passengers (+10.8% as compared to the same period of 2013). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 474 883,77 tons (-0.5%). The passenger load factor was 77.9% and the commercial load factor was 65.6%.

As for the June statistics, the Russian airlines have transported 9 721 551 passengers (+13.8%) and 83 326,18 tons of cargo and mail (-0.7%).

The top-5 carriers in terms of passenger traffic in January-June 2014 are as follows: Aeroflot transported 10 961 664 passengers (+14.9% as compared to the same period of 2013), Transaero - 5 752 078 passengers (+4.8%), UTair Aviation - 4 061 850 passengers (+6.9%), Siberia - 3 634 618 passengers (+14.4%) Ural Airlines - 2 225 788 passenger (+19.6%). These five carriers have transported a total of 26 635 998 passengers (+11.5%) during 6 months of 2014, which is equal to 64.2% of the total passenger traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.

The five leading airlines in terms of cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo – 244 930,7 tons of cargo and mail (+24.9% compared to the same period of 2013), Aeroflot – 66 510,8    tons of cargo and mail (-27.3%), Transaero - 31 060,1 tons of cargo and mail (+7.1%), Volga-Dnepr - 17 960,9 tons of cargo and mail (-38.4%), Siberia - 17 661 tons of cargo and mail (+5.3%). The above-mentioned five carriers have transported a total of 378 123,5 tons of cargo and mail (+4.3%) during 6 months of 2014, which is equal to 79.6% of the total cargo traffic of the Russian airlines during the accounting period.
