Up to 64 Su-35 fighters may be delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defense under a new contract with UAC

Russian Ministry of Defense may take delivery of up to 64 fourth-generation Su-35 fighters, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the ex-Commander-in-Chief of Russian air forces, Director of Military Aviation Programs Directorate of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Vladimir Mikhailov.

According to him, 48 Su-35 jets will be delivered to Russian Ministry of Defense under a signed contract. It was reported that the deliveries must be completed by 2015.

"Not less than 48 ones, even 56 – 64 jets; the matter is being considered. The funds for purchase of these vehicles will be allocated in the network of State Arms Program", — Mikhailov said at RSN radio station.
