Rosoboronexport completes deliveries of final batch of Mi-171E transport helicopters to China. The vehicles are being delivered to the customer under a contract between Poly Technologies (China) and Rosoboronexport for delivery of 52 helicopters of the type signed in 2012, ITAR-TASS reports with reference to Russian Helicopters Holding Company.
In the network of this agreement 32 helicopters of the type were delivered to China in 2013 and the final batch comprising 20 vehicles is being delivered to the customer in 2014.
The new Mi-171Es manufactured by Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant (part of Russian Helicopters Holding Company), are fitted with equipment improving the vehicle’s performance in high mountain regions. They are powered by uprated VK-2500 engines and fitted with Safir auxiliary power unit, upgraded transmission, searchlight, internal fuel tanks and seats for the troops.
The loading ramp and additional sliding door on the right side increase the efficiency of transport missions.
Chinese crews have successfully completed training at the training center of Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant. Today China operates around 150 Mi-171 Family helicopters.
