Moscow Domodedovo Airport Summed up Results for June and the First Half of 2014

Following June, the passenger traffic of Moscow Domodedovo Airport amounted to 3,384,496 persons which is 12.8% more yoy. The number of flights increased by 8.7% yoy to make 26,372 take-offs and landings.

Domestic airlines passenger traffic noted a significant growth of indicators – plus 24.3% yoy which makes almost 1.42 million people. Domestic airlines passenger traffic increased by 5.8% yoy and amounted to 1.97 million people.

The trend of redistribution of passenger traffic toward increasing domestic routes traffic persists. At the same time during the summer period the passenger traffic of the Crimean destination keeps growing. Following the first half of 2014, 130,602 flights were operated, which is 6.8% more yoy. Following the results of January-June, the passenger traffic increased by 6.9% yoy and amounted to 14.9 million people. The domestic routes passenger traffic for 6 months of 2014 reached 6.54 million people, which is 16.4% more than for the same period of last year. The highest growth rate was typical for the following cities: Sochi, Simferopol, Makhachkala, St. Petersburg, Ufa. The passenger traffic on these routes amounted to 1.6 million people, which is 38.1% more than for the same period of last year.

In January-June 2014, the largest increase of 32.2% was registered in the following group of international destinations: Hurghada, Antalya, Sharm El Sheikh, Kishinev, Larnaca. The passenger traffic there amounted to 1.8 thousand people. In total, the international airlines passenger traffic of the airport during the first six months amounted to 8.3 million people which is 0.4% more yoy.

According to the latest information provided by ACI Europe, Moscow Domodedovo Airport is among the top three largest European airports in terms of passenger traffic growth.
