Russian delegation is taking part in the world’s largest airshow, Farnborough-2014, which is held in the UK from July 14th to July 20th. The display covers 1,738 square meters. 74 Russian organizations, 16 of which are presenting defense products, are taking part in the airshow.
The head of Russian delegation is Yuri Slusar, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. The delegation also includes representatives of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC).
Russia has participated in the airshow since 2008. Information about 91 defense products is presented in the promotional materials.
In particular, seven out of 74 Russian companies are taking an active part in the military-technical cooperation: Rosoboronexport, Sukhoi, RAC MiG, Il, Oboronprom, Salut, and the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant.
In the network of the airshow, Russian Helicopters Holding Company will present its medium multi-role Ka-32A11BC helicopter, as well as its highly anticipated new Ka-62, Mi-38, and Mi-171A2 helicopters. Together with Rosoboronexport, the holding company will present its latest military and military-transport helicopters: Ka-52 Alligator, Mi-28NE Night Hunter, and Mi-35M. Moreover, the specialists of Russian Helicopters will hold presentation of Ansat-U training helicopter for potential customers.
The stand of United Engine Corporation features the SaM146 engine - the innovative product developed by NPO Saturn (Russia) and Snecma (France) in the network of PowerJet joint venture.
The United Aircraft Corporation showcases the SSJ 100 airliner.
Roscosmos (Federal Space Agency) is represented by the largest enterprises of the national space industry: TSENKI, TsSKB Progress, NPO Lavochkin (Lavochkin Research and Production Association), Academician Pilyugin Center, S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia (RSC Energia) and Russian Space Systems. The Roscosmos’ stand will feature models of the Spektr-UF, Luna-Globe, Luna-Resurs, Photon-M, and Resurs-P spacecraft; Soyuz-2 and Soyuz-ST launch vehicles; Frigate upper stage, etc.
The Farnborough International Exhibition and Flying Display is one of the world’s largest airshows has been held in the UK since 1948. Leading enterprises of the global aerospace industry present their latest products and sign large contracts at the exhibition.
In the network of the previous Farnborough airshow the companies signed contracts for delivery of 750 aircraft worth around $72 billion.
This year more than 1,000 companies from 37 countries are taking part in the exhibition. Total area of the display is more than 100,000 square meters; the largest displays are presented by Great Britain and the United States of America.
The military and civil aircraft from Russia, the United States, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Brazil, Switzerland, and Qatar take part in demonstration flights and are also presented at a static display.
