Alex Glock, the former top-manager of Embraer (Brazil), who should have been responsible for sales of Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ 100) aircraft in Europe and America, has left SuperJet International (SJI) after less than six months in the position, ITAR-TASS reports with reference to sources close to the project. Moreover, this information has also been confirmed by Alex Glock.
"Yes, I have left the company", - he said without explaining the reasons behind the decision.
SJI is the joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi (Italy) and Sukhoi Holding Company responsible for marketing, sales, customization and deliveries of SSJ 100 aircraft to Europe, America, Oceania and Africa.
According to Glock’s biography posted in linkedin, he was appointed Senior Vice President Commercial for Superjet International in March 2014. However, the company’s Board of Directors still has not approved his appointment. Presumably, his appointment should have been approved by the start of Farnborough airshow to open in UK on July 14th 2014. Glock should have presented the SSJ100 upgrade program at one of the world’s largest airshows.
According to ITAR-TASS, “a number of other world-class specialists” are being considered for the position. Press-service of SJI declined to comment on the matter.
