S7 Airlines, member of oneworld® global alliance, celebrates the 10th anniversary of the entry into service of its first Airbus aircraft. On the day of this anniversary the carrier took delivery of another new Airbus A320 liner, said in the joint press-release of S7 and Airbus.
The first Airbus aircraft joined the fleet of S7 Airlines on July 3rd 2004. Today these liners are essential part of the airline’s fleet, which is one of the youngest and most advanced ones in Russia. Average age of Airbus aircraft operated by S7 is 8 years. «State-of-the-art fleet is one of the key advantages of S7 Airlines. S7 Airlines took delivery of new Airbus A320 fitted with Sharklet wing tip devices; the aircraft was delivered to the carrier from Airbus’ site in Toulouse. Similar jet was delivered to the airline in April 2014. The aircraft features a two-class cabin layout seating 158 passengers. The cabin is fitted with advanced seats manufactured by Recaro (Germany).
The liner will start performing flights from Domodedovo airport (Moscow) shortly. At first it will be performing domestic flights to Irkutsk, Sochi, Krasnodar, and then – on other routes included in the carrier’s route network. The fleet of S7 Airlines now comprises 43 Airbus aircraft (including the new one): 20 Airbus A319s, 19 A320s and four A321s, said in the statement.
