Kazan Helicopters will launch the serial production of the new Mi-38 multi-role helicopter in 2015. The vehicle will be in demand among both military and civil organizations of Russia, ARMS-TASS reports with reference to the Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov.
"The testing of this helicopter will be completed soon; we hope the vehicle has a bright future. There is a market for the helicopter. The vehicle will be in demand among civil organizations, for example, oil and gas companies. The enterprise will also be delivering these helicopters in the network of State Defense Order", — Manturov said during his visit to the enterprise.
According to the minister, Kazan Helicopters has a great development prospects. "The enterprise implemented state-of-the-art technologies and it is working on optimization of its costs. The enterprise is also implementing Lean manufacturing technologies and automation of technological processes", — Manturov said. He reminded that Kazan Helicopters is a part of Russian Helicopters Holding Company having a 15% share of the global helicopter market. "Over the last three years the output of Kazan Helicopters and other enterprises of Russian Helicopters was increasing (+5 – 10% per year). The enterprises deliver solid results in terms of profit ", — Manturov noted.
During the one-day working visit to Kazan the Minister of Industry and Trade laid the foundation for construction of a plant for production of raw materials used in manufacturing silicon and held a meeting with CEOs of defense enterprises at Kazan Helicopters to discuss the ways to phase out imports.
