Russian multi-role Su-35 fighter was demonstrated to the Chinese delegation in Kubinka (Moscow Region). The delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of National Defense Zhang Youxia. According to Interfax, this demonstration was held in the network of preparation of a contract for delivery of Su-35 fighters to China. The Chinese specialists studied the combat qualities and aircraft performance of the fighter, watched the demonstration flight and consulted on special aspects related to operation of the jet", - said in the statement.

According to a source familiar with the situation, the Chinese delegation liked the aircraft; their reaction was marked with willingness to purchase the aircraft. "We had a businesslike talk, the Chinese specialists were interested in all the details", — the source said.

He reminded that the head of Chinese delegation, Deputy Minister of National Defense, General Colonel Zhang Youxia, met with Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, Yuri Borisov, earlier. They have discussed the problems related to military-technical cooperation between China and Russia. "The parties also discussed the preparation of the contract for delivery of Su-35 fighters”.

The source noted that Su-35 fighter has already been demonstrated to Chinese specialists before. "Last year we demonstrated Su-35 to Chinese delegation in Kubinka", — he said.

Unofficially, China plans to purchase 24 fighters of the type. And they want to purchase jets upgraded in accordance with the requirements of Chinese air forces instead of serial ones delivered to Russian air forces.

Today China is the largest operator of Su-27/30 fighters. A total of 281 aircraft of the Family have been delivered to the country. Moreover, China launched the serial production of J-11B fighter, which, in fact, is a clone of Su-27.

Su-35 was developed by Sukhoi design bureau (part of Sukhoi Holding Company). It is a “4++”-generation super-maneuverable multi-role fighter. The fifth-generation technologies have been used during development of the fighter granting its superiority over other fighters of this class.

Su-35 is fitted with state-of-the-art avionics suite based on digital information-control system, new radar with phased antenna array with increased acquisition range and increased number of simultaneously tracked and attacked targets, new engines with increased thrust and thrust vector control.

According to experts, Su-35 outmatches its analogues operated by foreign countries in terms of aircraft performance and its equipment allows carrying out a wide range of missions. The jet outmatches all the 4 and 4+-generation European fighters like Rafale and Eurofighter 2000, upgraded US fighters like F-15, F-16 and F-18. Su-35S is also able to react against fifth-generation fighter F-22A.

Russian Ministry of Defense is the launch customer for Su-35; it signed a state contract for delivery of 48 jets of the type in 2009.
