S7 Airlines, member of oneworld global alliance, won the awards at Cannes Lions – 2014 in two categories. The Catch-a-Plane app for iPhone released in April won the silver award in Mobile Lions category, the carrier’s press-service reports.
The project was developed and implemented by the team of Leo Burnett Moscow agency. Every time an aircraft operated by S7 Airlines or one of its oneworld partner airlines flies over a user, he receives a notification containing the information about the airliner’s route. After clicking the “Catch a plane” button the user will get from 1 to 3 bonus miles for each S7 Airlines airliner depending on the flight duration, the carrier explained.
«The app is very popular. Half of five million miles were collected in the first few weeks. The event continues. Thanks to the app we registered an increase of the number of frequent flyers, members of S7 Priority program. This app may help the users get new ideas for their journey as well as information about available fares», - Deputy CEO of S7 Group on Marketing, Tatyana Fileva, said.
The Moscow – Kiev advertising campaign of S7 Airlines won the bronze award in Outdoor Lions category. This project was implemented by Good Moscow agency.
The advertising campaign took place in March to support S7 flights between Moscow and Kiev. Billboards were placed in these two cities. Designers used a peace sign as the basis. S7 Airlines stays out of politics and the idea of this advertising campaign was to stress that the politics must not affect the relations between people. Each person must have an opportunity to visit his friends and relatives, S7 noted.
